Wood and Pellet Burners
Burning wood is largely carbon neutral, and many people are installing wood or multi-fuel burners in conjunction with a solar solution as an attractive, 'greener' way to heat their living space and also provide lower cost hot water in the winter months when solar panels are less productive.

The installation of appliances, chimneys and flues is now subject to Buiding Regulations in the same way that oil and gas appliances are. This is for safety and efficiency reasons, and means that Building Control approval must be sought (and paid for), or an approved contractor used who can notify Building Control on your behalf.
